Why A Camcorder Hard Drive?

We've all had that heart-sinking feeling when, in the middle of capturing an important family moment, be it a family party, a toddler's first steps, or (gasp!) a wedding, the red-light illuminates on your camcorder to tell you there's too little recording time left - disaster!

A camcorder hard drive will help avoid this awkward, inconvenient and sometimes just plain embarrassing situation offering much greater storage capacity with pinpoint recording duration information.

The storage capacity for recordings significantly out-performs the competition with some camcorder manufacturers offering some 37 hours of video storage. So no more worries about available recording time, just keep on shooting and capturing those magic moments.
No More Tapes

Because you're storing the images to a fixed onboard disc, there's no need for the hassle of first buying and then loading new tapes or removable discs. Ever bought the wrong disc before? Too short a duration, wrong format, Hi8 not Digital 8? I know I have! Then there's the fiddle of removing the used tape, unpacking and inserting the replacement and all the while, no one has stopped the wedding for you! A camcorder hard drive will free you from that hassle and let you get on with shooting the action.

And of course, you can save money on tapes and removable discs - when you've filled the onboard disc, just upload your recording to a permanent outboard device, e.g. PC or DVD recorder - and start again, easy and economical.

Upload, Arrange and Enjoy

The transfer to PC or DVD recorder is straightforward and intuitive with camcorder hard drives. An added advantage is the facility for categorizing your recorded scenes as you go. The camcorder hard drive does a great deal to help in easing what used to be a laborious process with earlier tape-based camcorders. For example, it will place clear and informative icons within the media as you go, helping you to identify the scenes you are looking to view.

Camcorder Hard Drive - Go Anywhere, Shoot Anything!

The camcorder hard drive has come a long way from the bulky, awkward and downright heavy lumps we used to carry in the 80's and 90's. No need to carry spare tapes/discs and assorted accessories either. It's compact form and light weight make it easy to carry and stow, giving you the freedom to take it almost literally anywhere and shoot just about anything! If flexibility, high storage capacity and convenience are important factors, then a camcorder hard drive system may be the best digital camcorder for you.
